It Feels like spring has sprung............
Awesome day here today in our neck of the woods...how was it in yours??
The kids haven't been so happy in ages and I think it was because they spent the whole day outside. They were out in the sandpit playing cafes at 9:40 am......Then after lunch we headed off on bikes(well not me I was tail end charlie in the car to pick up the stragglers and those not yet that safe on the road, which ended up only 1 out of the 4 so they all did real well....
The day just seemed to go on forever today...the washing was totally dry and the kids as chirpy as,so all is good
Made this delicious chicken dish for tea (cheats roast chicken) All you need to do is boil a whole chicken in a large pot with about 3 cups of water, 3 cloves garlic, 2 lemons cut in half and a good squirt of soy sauce....boil until chick is cooked, take out of liquid and pull meat off in large chunks and place in a casserole dish. Remove lemon chunks from liquid and then all you need to do is thicken with cornflour and season, pour this gravy over the chicken and top with fresh chunky breadcrumbs and either fresh or dried mixed herbs....YUM YUM so in effect you have the roast chicken with the gravy and stuffing all in one....easy to prepare ahead of time and reheat

What did you have for dinner tonight???
Tonight it was a quick slap it together type meal...I'm sure you all have these at least once a week?? We had to go over the hill for Brownies today after school and by the time we get home dinner is not a major priority for me...Anyway it was real yummy we had Pita breads and salad with some beautiful fresh crumbed flounder(caught by John the other night) and I had left over in the fridge as there was so much of it we had spare for tonight(what a terrible state of affairs it is to have too much fresh fish) and we also had a crispy bacon option as well..yum scrum..

DO YOU HAVE A LIST OF JOBS THAT YOU PUT OFF!!!!!!!
Well today after a bit of a cleaning once over in the lounge, I started to think of what else I have to do, and 2 things kept coming to the front of my mind!!! and I kept putting them to the back of my mind and they just kept jumping forward to the front again......I bet you all have these sorts of jobs?????what like I hear you say....I'll whisper them so I try to forget them...shhhh The damn oven needs cleaning and shhhhhh the windows( not some but all!!!!) need cleaning
You must admit they have to be 2 of the worst chores in the house....but I tell you what once they are done(and it never takes as long as you think) both the oven and the windows do look so good!!!!! and you wonder why why why did it take so long to get around to doing them!!!!! Blah Blah Blah thought it might start a bit of a bloggy thing on the best and worst things we homemakers have to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I endeavor to get both these nasties out of the way this week....will keep you posted...Anyone else taking up the challenge,(you could easily say yes and not do it but wait maybe I should ask for photographic evidence!!!! ) I feel I may not be very popular for setting this challenge.....................

Felt Hearts for Key Rings or Bag Rings???
I had some scrap pieces of handmade felt left from previous projects and thought it was too good to waste so have made these cute little hearts and thought they would be nice on a key ring or on a ring on the zip of a bag....What do you think....I also was sick of chasing my needles around a tin to find the right one all the time so whipped up a needle case, rather sellable both lots of things I have made this week wouldn't you say...Is that a big yes I hear!!!
MY TURN AT THE YUMMIEST PIE EVER!!
Allie from Life in B Town has had her fame with her mince pie and Fran from Frangapani has had hers with her best ever chicken pie so I have added to the best pie list and encourage you all to do the same...makes meals in alot of homes more interesting after trying your own version of the best pie!!!!
My Pie has the yummiest crust and most simple one out there.
1 cup white flour
1 cup of Rolled Oats
1/2 cup grated cheese
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
Mix these together and press into your desired tin...I don't bake this blind it seems to crisp up nicely in a good hot oven.
Fill it up with anything pieish...mine was silverbeet, onion, corn, cheese grated and feta chunks, tomato, eggs and milk and good old s&p
Anyway give it a go and let me know!!! YUM YUM

Instead of a ride today we floated 2 of our horses to the beach(only 4 kms) Both of them haven't experienced the beach much as they are both new to us and one of them had never been...they were both so good and loved it and so did we. John took the" let them get used to the water" to the extreme and got soaked through to his undies, but it was so good for the horses and I am glad he did it not me(well I wouldn't have even given it a go!!) so good on him!!!
Brooches brooches and more brooches
My goal is to have 30 of these made before we open the little LeBons Bay Library shop...I have 11 done so far so nearly half way there!!!!Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far...I'm just off for a horse ride with my lovely fella (thats John!!!) before the weather turns. SNOW SNOW SNOW they say!!!!

I got a parcel in the post today!!!
Today in the mail I received a surprise parcel it was from my mother in law...
We were talking on the phone the other day and both looking at the same auction on trademe and I commented on 3 nice enamel plates, I then had a little winge about funds being a bit tight and that me purchasing them was not a priority............and guess what she bought them for me and had them sent here....thanks Trish that was real nice of you, maybe funds should be tight more often!!! Just kidding it was much appreciated XXX
Lots of sewing planned this week end
The kids are at their Dads for the weekend and weather is meant to be bad, so my plan is to sew!!!! I've decided to try and make as many things as I can out of a big woolen blanket I got at savemart on my last op shopping spree.....if you look back through my older posts you will see I have already started this and have completed a purse and brooch and this afternoon I whipped up this cushion....what do you think??? more of these I reckon along with a trip to a material shop to get a good selection of nz fabrics to carry on with this theme........
Anyway hope you all have a good weekend and I will pass by your blogs I'm sure
